Hot Trader Joe wine tip

Greetings readers.  Go to your nearest TJ and grab a few bottles of Hillgate 2009 Zinfandel from Lake County.  This wine is a mere, yes, I said "mere," $6.99 a bottle.  I grabbed six more bottles yesterday cuz it's really good and becasuse it's a "hustle buy," it won't be around for long.

It's a hefty Zin.  Fruit-forward but not overly jammy.  Soft tannins and lots of spice, most notably, pepper.

Hurry!  Don't miss out, get thee to your Trader Joe's for this terrific bargain.

Bought 2 bottles without having tried it prior, just seemed like it would be a good buy. I was right. I wanna go back for a case.

One more thing - an interesting tidbit of info I sleuthed via Google just now. I found a Napa valley winemaker online, Andy Pestoni with a 2009 vintage Zin from Nova Vineyard in Kelseyville, which is in Lake County. Not too many other Zins popped up for '09 with grapes harvested in Lake County, made by a Napa winemaker, which is exactly the profile of this "Hillgate" '09 Zin - made by a Napa winemaker with Lake County grapes. Hmmm...

Could "Hillgate" be Nova Vineyard? :http://store.winetrain.com/products/jelly-jar-zinfandel-nova-vineyard-lake-county-2008
